It’s here! The book that explains, in just enough detail, why polar bears are thriving despite the gloomy prognostications of the data collectors and future survivor modelers.
Here is all the science you need to know to understand contemporary polar bear issues of sea ice loss and species extinction. It contains the most up-to-date information available in an easy to digest format, with references to back it up.
Polar Bears: Outstanding Survivors of Climate Change is aimed at adults and high school students and was fashioned after the popular lecture with the same title I have given since 2009 to rave reviews. It contains the critical information readers need to understand polar bear ecology and conservation issues without drowning in detail.
Polar Bears: Outstanding Survivors of Climate Change is the rational science reference book about polar bears that readers around the world have been requesting. Buy it for yourself, your friends and family, your local library, or your favorite politician. It’s available in paperback and ebook formats.

This book is the perfect complement to my recently-released Polar Bear Facts and Myths, which is a question-and-answer format summary of the science that’s suitable for children aged 7 and up. In the end, you may decide you want them both.
Polar Bears: Outstanding Survivors of Climate Change – buy it here in paperback in the US. Kindle version is here, and various other ebook options (including Nook, Apple, and PDF) are forthcoming soon now available via Smashwords here.
Also available through Amazon Canada and Amazon UK.
Note for ebook versions: the book relies on color image content that is rendered into gray-scale by many (but not all) electronic appliances. While the price is lower and you can have it immediately (without shipping charges), you may miss a few details if your appliance displays only gray-scale.
Polar Bear Facts and Myths – the version suitable for children 7 and up – is available here in paperback (probably the preferred version for kids) and Kindle ebook. Various other ebook options (including Nook, Apple, and PDF) now available via Smashwords here.
My book website now has full details of these new non-fiction books (along with a revised author biography) and will be updated regularly regarding formats and venues as they become available. Details for EATEN: A novel on that site (my polar bear attack thriller) has moved to its own fiction page.
Surprise! One more, for the little ones.
If you’ve got preschoolers in your family, watch for my polar bear book that’s just for them. My own grandson loves polar bear pictures but Polar Bear Facts & Myths is above his comprehension and sensitivity level. So I modified Facts & Myths just for him – and all of the other preschoolers out there who would love a book with great images and animal facts suitable for that age group (no gory pictures of feeding bears, no talk of threatened species).
The result is a delightful picture book called Polar Bears Have Big Feet and is now available in paperback through Amazon outlets.
